Rod Wave Cambridge Concert reviews
KWS can bring it!!
The first time I saw Rod Wave was at the Borgata, and this was the second time. Both shows were really good. The bass was far too loud when the concert started, and the vocals were too low, but they got a better mix as the show went on. The deep bass still washed out Rod's guitar and the keyboards. It provided chest pounding tones, but I wanted to hear the band and not just be blown away by the bass.
Tony Franklin plays a mean fret-less bass, even though it was too loud. Rod does his thing better than anyone in the business, and I think I just have a man crush on Noah Hunt. His vocals are smooth and rough at the same time. I hope he stays with Rod and they produce many more albums.
The Keswick is a great place to see a show if you've never been. However, I still would have liked there been a video screen. When you see a band like this, you need to see Rod's fingers do their thing, and sitting in the back just doesn't do it justice.
Even though the old Fleetwood Mac tune, "I Don't Live Today" is a good rockin song, I would rather have heard "Shotgun Blues", "Where was I", or "Was".
The show wasn't well advertised, or I would have bought tickets much sooner than I did. We sat near the back, and with this being a smaller venue, it's still not close enough.
Rod is always recommended, and I would see him again and again if I had the chance.
